Workshop 1 (WS1): The workshop is currently fully booked. However, you are welcome to register for the waiting list.
“Sports specific shoulder stability training depending on direction of instability.” After this workshop, you’ll leave with a tailored set of exercises designed to effectively treat athletes with shoulder instability. We’ll explore creative ways to replicate the unique demands placed on the shoulder
across various sports. You’ll also gain a practical framework to help you select the most appropriate exercises for your therapy goals and confidently
guide your patients’ progression.
- Dr Annelies Maenhout (BEL), PhD, visiting professor in Physiotherapy at Ghent University, Belgium, within the Rehabilitation Sciences department, specialized in shoulder rehabilitation.
- Dr Maria Werin (SWE), PhD, sports physical therapist at Capio Artro Clinic, Stockholm Sweden, specialized in the treatment of shoulder injuries in overhead athletes.
Workshop 2 (WS2): “Return to sport after shoulder injury in overhead athletes.” This workshop focuses on return to sport after shoulder injuries in overhead athletes. We will go through the different rehabilitation phases, from initial recovery to advanced sport-specific training. Criteria for a safe return to sport, including functional testing and performance benchmarks, will be discussed. The workshop combines theoretical knowledge with practical insights to help athletes and clinicians optimize recovery and reduce the risk of reinjury.
- Dr Martin Asker (SWE), PhD, associate professor at Sophiahemmet University and head of the Handball Research Group at the Musculoskeletal & Sports Injury Epidemiology Center, Stockholm, specialized on injury prevention, prognosis, and performance in handball.

Workshop 3 (WS3): The workshop is currently fully booked. However, you are welcome to register for the waiting list.
“3 weeks return to sport and 7% one-year reinjury rates – The Aspetar way of criteria-based progression through hamstring rehabilitation, a practical workshop.” In this workshop, we will cover the key features of Aspetar’s approach to hamstring injury rehabilitation in athletes including the key daily assessment techniques, and how to integrate these findings into your daily (loading) treatment. Ensure you wear exercise clothing so you can take part in this highly practical session to be held in the gym.
- Dr Rod Whiteley (AUS, QAT), PhD, Specialist Sports Physiotherapist, Assistant Director of Clinical Projects & Quality at Aspetar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital in Doha, Qatar. Dr Whiteley has worked with a number of professional and international teams and individuals in Rugby League, Rugby Union, Baseball, Football, Squash, and Athletics.
Workshop 4 (WS4): “Rehabilitation strategies for meniscal injuries – tailoring protocols to injury characteristics and location” This workshop will focus on rehabilitation strategies for meniscal injuries, emphasizing how injury type, location, and biomechanical implications should guide individualized rehabilitation protocols. Using MRI and arthroscopic case examples, participants will explore the distinct characteristics of common and less common meniscal lesions, including longitudinal, radial, complex, root tears, and ramp lesions.
- Dr Riccardo Cristiani (SWE), MD, PhD, orthopedic surgeon and researcher at Capio Artro Clinic and Karolinska Institutet, Sweden, with a strong focus on sports medicine and knee injuries, particularly anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and meniscal injuries.
